Editorial Director - The Design Network

EDITORIAL DIRECTOR:
The Design Network is searching for a creative and energetic Editorial Director with a passion for interior design, social media, creative storytelling and digital innovation. The Editorial Director will create persuasive and engaging content for both consumer and interior designer audiences that is consistent with TDN?s strategic creative plan, maintain the brand voice, and grow community engagement that results in e-commerce and e-design sales.
Based in High Point, NC, The Design Network is a broadband platform designed to inspire people to live better lives at home and to discover the best furnishings and the professionals who can bring their visions to life. (1) We are a Furniture E-Commerce Platform powered by our sister company, Furnitureland South, the world?s largest furniture store. (2) We are a Community of Interior Designers. The top designers in America share their projects, decorating tips and their favorite products; and are available for hire. (3) We are a TV Network. We curate inspirational content from our design community and produce original TV series where consumers are entertained and can learn from the pros and shop the shows. Available on TheDesignNetwork.com, Roku and Apple TV.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Editorial
Develop concepts, write and edit headlines and copy for marketing materials, events, promotions, TDN website, social media and email marketing
Help develop, manage and execute editorial, promotional and content calendar
Partner with creative team to develop new TDN TV series, write treatments and scripts
TDN blog: write posts and solicit content from TDN?s interior design community and vendor partners, collect/resize images and conduct interviews
Collaborate with Director of TDN?s Trade Direct purchasing program for interior designers. Edit copy for email blasts, chart communication touch points and assist in organizing designer event logistics.
Collaborate with E-Commerce Director to develop promotional ideas and messaging
Review website development, help test new features and user experience
Conduct competitive analysis of home furnishings e-tailers and stay abreast of interior design influencers, websites and blogs
Social Media
Manage social media channels and determine the social strategy for TDN content, the designer community, e-commerce and e-design products and promotions
Post regularly to social channels, strategically developing and driving brand voice across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest
Act as a brand champion. Find creative ways to interject The Design Network into conversations with consumers to drive value to the brand?s overall reputation.
Stay abreast of changes, new features and trends in social media, reporting on cutting edge creative content and exploring new platforms
Review and report TDN social analytics. Deliver real-time insights through social listening to impact overall brand communication plans.
Collaborate with the creative team to develop ideas for short-form social media videos featuring design tips, trends and how-to?s. Leverage video content to grow community and audience engagement.
Create social strategies for promotional campaigns and TDN TV series launches, and work with contributors to manage and execute these plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3 to 5+ years of editorial and social media writing experience
Associates or Bachelors in English, Communications or Marketing
Creative and highly organized with ability to multi-task while managing time, calendar and deadlines
Working knowledge of digital image requirements
Ability to take creative direction, feedback, suggestions and implement across a range of deliverables
Extensive analytical toolset including an advanced understanding of gathering data and organizing it into a reportable fashion for management
Ability to excel in a fast-faced environment, working individually or as part of a team
Adept at problem solving
Flexibility in work structure with the ability to shift priorities when needed

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
