Job Description The Assistant Director reports to the Executive Director of the GTCC Foundation to implement a comprehensive annual fund raising program to achieve sustained fund raising growth for the college. The Assistant DIrector organizes and implements all aspects of fund raising activities to sustain a culture of operational excellence and is responsible for the creation of key fund raising events in support of the annual campaign and all other GTCC Foundation activities. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with donors, alumni, students, senior administrators, faculty/staff, community leaders and other volunteers to support the mission of the college.
Duties/Functions ? Implement comprehensive strategies to achieve sustained college fundraising growth. This includes strategies to increase all areas of giving and assist in grant acquisition. ? Implement an effective overall annual fund raising plan, to include identifying, cultivating and increasing funds raised from alumni, individual, and corporate donors. Direct and coordinate fund raising events and activities to meet established performance benchmarks, and support the Executive Director's work with the GTCC Foundation Board. ? Organize and implement strategic plans developed by the college and the GTCC Foundation. ? Develop and maintain comprehensive fundraising and recognition programs for faculty and staff, annual giving, alumni, planned giving, and other constituent groups. ? Plan, implement and promote alumni programs and donor giving programs (President's Society, Scholarships, Employee, Alumni, etc.); ensure accurate and complete donor database records; and capture contact, biographical and career information of existing and prospective donor constituents via surveys, projects, correspondence, website, postal returns, etc. ? Establish and build relationships with a wide range of donor constituents, and maintain regular communication with donor constituents via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications. ? Partner with other college departments to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement to current and graduating students. ? Responsible for all events sponsored by the Foundation. ? Assist in the administration and financial stewardship of the GTCC Foundation programs and funds working with the Executive Director, Administrative Assistant, Grants Administrator, GTCC Foundation Board, college finance staff, professional services providers, financial aid staff for administration of financial reporting, budget management, acknowledging donors, mini-grants, endowments, scholarships and other programs to support the college. ? Work closely with Marketing and Public Information to help inform the Foundation staff, donors and prospects and produce collateral Foundation materials and communications. ? Lead in delivering excellent customer service by providing positive leadership and cultivation of volunteers. ? Demonstrate and model the College's employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem solving, responsibility and teamwork. ? Serve on college committees and community organizations as needed. ? Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the GTCC Foundation the college President.
Difficult Challenges ? Time management: Balance external donor visits and meet strategic goals with the need to book and track contributions and thank donors for their contributions. Expectations are that in the long-term some administrative and operational functions and duties will be delegated to others including Administrative Assistant and work-study students/interns.
Contacts ? Daily: supervisor and/or Executive Director regarding updates, assignments.
? Daily: Administrative Assistant re tracking donations, acknowledging donors, reports needed, minutes, scholarships, departmental funds, culinary reservations, payments due, signatures needed
? Daily: Finance staff re booking and tracking donations, exchanging reports.
? Daily: faculty re internal fund balances, payments.
? Daily: donor constituents re cultivation and stewardship
? Biweekly: President re signatures, approvals, information sharing
? Biweekly: Human Resources
? Monthly: EVP re special projects.
? Monthly: Financial Aid re scholarships.
Education Required ? Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
Education Preferred
Experience Required ? 2 years of formal fund raising experience in a non-profit organization or comparable experience is required.
? Experience in annual or capital fund raising.
? Expertise in prospect and donor research and data management as well as donor relationship management.
? Expertise in event planning and coordination.
? Experience in working with and leading volunteers.
? Demonstrated administrative and supervisory experience and strong organizational skills
Experience Preferred ? Prefer experience in writing and designing brochures, pledge forms, newsletters, websites, acknowledgement letters, minutes, etc.
? Prefer experience working specifically with donor/contact databases and business/donor development programs such as Talisma/Donor II, The Raiser's Edge, or similar products.
? Prefer experience with basic accounting and accounting software.
KSA Required ? Ability to work as an energetic and collaborative team member.

? Proven ability to build relationships with all stakeholders internal and external.
? Strong verbal and written skills.
? Strong computer skills including knowledge of gift tracking, database management
? Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel
KSA Preferred ? Prefer proficiency in software such as Constant Contact, Sign-Up Genius, Canva, Adobe PDF, and Microsoft Publisher.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
